Fire Measure Design

Fire Measure Design is the practice of balancing the desired aesthetics and function, with the compliance of your construction project, to ensure you meet your overarching project goals.

Our team of FPAS accredited fire practitioners are experts in reviewing our clients’ needs and aligning them with the relevant specifications of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021. They can provide wet and dry fire safety measure designs.

FPAS is a national voluntary scheme (Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme) recognising the skills and competencies of individual fire protection technicians across Australia.

Our team can assess any proposed development and provide a fire safety measures layout plan and design certificate in accordance with the BCA requirements, Australian Standards, and any Fire Engineer Report. This includes:

Clause 74/139 Report

Under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021, adherence to Clause 74/139 is crucial for approved developments within existing buildings that may impact Detector/Alarm Systems, Hydraulic Systems, or Smoke Ventilation Systems.

Our team of fire practitioners are accredited by FPAS, ensuring their proficiency in designing tailored fire safety measures for your proposed development. They ensure that all current fire safety requirements are fully met.

Starting with an evaluation of your proposed design and the existing fire safety measures within the building, our team considers any performance solution or fire engineering report. Subsequently, they provide a comprehensive layout for wet and/or dry fire safety measures, along with a design certificate and a peer review endorsement. This meticulous approach not only ensures compliance but also maximises the safety of your development.

Clause 137

The Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021 mandates that fit-out developments, typically approved under a complying development certificate (CDC) within an existing building and incorporating a fire safety performance solution (or Fire Engineer Report), must adhere to Clause 137.

Clause 137 necessitates the preparation of a compliance report to ensure that the proposed development aligns with the requirements outlined in the performance solution. Our team of fire safety engineers, practitioners, and BCA consultants is poised to assist in crafting this report alongside our general fit-out approvals.

They will conduct a thorough assessment of your proposed design, the existing fire safety measures within the building, and the performance solution or fire engineering report. The result will be a specification of the achievable level of compliance, providing a comprehensive overview of your fit-out development’s adherence to regulatory standards.

FPAS Hydrant pressures and design

Collaborating closely with Sydney Water, our team of fire practitioners go beyond the conventional to meticulously design compliant hydrant layouts that align with stringent fire safety requirements. This involves a comprehensive understanding and incorporation of Sydney Water’s design specifications and consideration of water pressures.

Our experts ensure that the hydrant layouts not only meet regulatory standards but also account for specific factors such as building structures, occupancy, and emergency response needs.
